Fishing Report ArchiveRating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Great fishing the past couple of days. Bluefish and spanish mackerel have been the biggest news. Anglers are having fun using artificial lures such as hopkins and stingsilvers. We're also catching puppy drum, black drum, sea mullet, pompano, spot, croaker and flounder. Willie Foster from Virginia Beach, Va caught a 26 1/2 lb. puppy drum, 8 lb. black drum and his wife, Maggie, caught a good number of flounder while fishing the north end of the island near the pilings. William Rumschlag from Newport News, VA caught a citation 1 1/2 lb. sea mullet. William Moore from Beaufort, NC caught a citation 2 lb. 9 oz. pompano and Marie Barnette from Perkiomenville, PA also caught a citation 2 lb. pompano while fishing the sound end of the island. Sound fishing - Lots of flounder, bluefish, spanish mackerel, puppy drum and gray trout. Offshore - Charter Boat "Restless" came in with a 71 lb. citation yellowfin tuna and their limit of dolphin. That's all for now except so far this morning (Friday) there were lots of birds working the south end of the island and Gaetano Amoroso and his sons from Bluebell, PA were catching lots of bluefish and spanish mackerel.
