Fishing Report ArchiveRating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Fishing from the surf is great if you're looking for bluefish. Quite a number have been caught and all in the 1 to 2 lb. range. Among some of the lucky anglers were Jim Hussey from Tarboro, NC who actually holds the North Carolina and world record for a 31 lb. 12 oz. bluefish. Also John Martin from Wingate, NC caught gray trout, bluefish, flounder and a 27" puppy drum while fishing at the Pony Pen. There was also a 16 lb. cobia caught Wednesday on the back side of the south end of the island by Richard Hendrick from Jackson Springs, NC. His picture can be seen on "Surf Catch of the Week". Sound Fishing is producing cobia, flounder, bluefish, spanish mackerel and puppy drum. A citation size 40 lb. cobia was caught today by Davis Taylor from Florence, SC while fishing with Captain Wayne Belch. Davis and his wife also caught 6 drum as well. Offshore - Wahoo, king mackerel, dolphin and tuna. Have a great day and keep fishing! Rating: |
