Fishing was fair Friday. We had a variety of fish being caught but I'll be the majority of the fishermen would say sharks came in first. We did have quite a few bluefish, sea mullet, flounder and even gray trout showed up in the surf. The water has cleared up nicely but no great number of fish just yet. We'll hope for better today.
Sound fishing - gray trout and flounder. Tom Atherton from Ocracoke actually caught a citation 5 lb. 8 oz. flounder as well as 2 spanish mackerel 26 and 27 inches using a 5/8 oz. hopkins.
Offshore - yellowfin, wahoo, king mackerel and dolphin.
